Asus has formally introduced two new tablets running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system - the Transformer Pad 300 and Transformer Pad Infinity 700. Both new tablets will feature Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich for tablets. The Asus Transformer Pad 300 houses a quad core Nvidia Tegra 3 mobile processor while the Transformer Pad Infinity 700 uses a dual core Qualcom Snapdragon S4 mobile processor. The new Asus Transformer Pads are expected to be available later this year and pricing has not been revealed as yet.

The Transformer Pad 300 is out to redefine Transformer Prime with better hardware and looks. It features a docking keyboard with chiclet style keys. This tablet sports a 10.1 inch touchscreen display with WXGA (1280 x 800 pixel) resolution. The wide angle IPS panel can also support ten point finger touch at the same time. Asus has added 1 GB of RAM and 16 GB on board storage. This tablet has an 8 megapixel camera with auto-focus at the back. There's a 1.2 megapixel camera in the front.

Other features of Transformer Pad 300 include 4G LTE/3G network support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0, 2-in-1 audio jack, micro HDMI port, a microSD card reader and high quality speakers. Asus has packed a 22 Wh Lithium Polymer battery that offers ten hours' runtime and up to 15 hours with the keyboard dock, which has a built-in 16.5 Wh battery. Infinity 700 meanwhile has a 10.1 inch display. It will come in two configurations - WiFi+3G with Qualcomm's dual core Snapdragon S4 MSM 8260A/8960 mobile processor; and Wi-Fi-only with a quad core Nvidia Tegra 3 T33 mobile processor. Both models will have 1 GB RAM on board.
