Besides the update, Adam owners will also get a lot of bug fixes for their tablets. Bengaluru-based Indian start-up Notion Ink has released the first ever alpha version of Android Ice Cream Sandwich for its Adam tablet. Besides the operating system update, the device manufacturer is also offering fixes for a number of bugs that were there in the pre alpha release of the operating system, which was issued about a couple of weeks ago.

Adam tablet features a 10 inch display with an optional Pixel Qi sunlight-readable display, for which users have to shell out some more cash. The tablet, when it was launched last year, was one of the first devices with an Nvidia Tegra 2 dual core processor and a 183 degree swivel camera. Besides, the Adam tab offers Wi-Fi and optional 3G connectivity, and multiple storage options.

Along with Android ICS, the update focuses on fixing issues that included problems pertaining to capacitive buttons, display, sound, USB fixes, WiFi and SD card mounting. However, there are still some bug fixes left that include issues with USB mounting, HDMI sound, high quality YouTube video streaming and 3G connectivity. The company is expected to issue fixes for these bugs in the Adam tablet with the next update. Notably, Notion Ink had revealed its plans to launch the second generation Adam 2 tablet in December 2011 itself, but it seems that with the ongoing ICS rage, the release of the newer device has been postponed. Adam 2 is thus now expected to be released later this year.
