Acer will introduce full 1080p HD native resolution supporting Iconia A700 with quad-core Nvidia Tegra 3 processor next month at CES 2012.
Meanwhile, Russian Website NoMobile.ru grabbed first official images of the upcoming Iconia A700 tablet which are expected to be shown at the Consumer Electronics Show 2012 next month in Las Vegas, US.
Acer is quietly hiding its new Iconia A700 tablet that will feature 10.1-inch touchscreen display with 1920x1200 pixel resolution natively. Weighing about 650 grams, the WUxGA widescreen resolution (1900x1200) bearing tablet will house the new quad-core 1.3 GHz Nvidia Tegra 3 mobile processor. There's no word on the operating system running on it but we assume it is going to be Android 3.2 Honeycomb OS with layer of Acer UI on it. Later the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update may be rolled out for it.
The new Iconia A700 will come with dedicated orientation lock switch along with a micro-HDMI port, micro USB and 3.5 mm port. At the rear there would be a 5 megapixel camera with Flash capable of recording HD video and so is the front facing camera.
For connectivity, the A700 will offer Bluetooth 3.0 and Wi-Fi (802.11 a/b/g/n) while the A701 will feature the support for 3G Networks as well. Acer will pack a 9800 mAh battery pack that will be good enough to watch videos for 10 hours!
There is no word on price and availability of this tablet. We expect Acer to officially announce the Iconia A700 and share other necessary details at the CES 2012 next month.
