Apple to announce iPhone 5 on Sept 12

The much awaited next version of iPhone is likely to be announced on September 12th by Apple. The iPhone 5 is expected to be available by 21st September. A tech website, imore.com, has reported that Apple will also release Apple iPad Mini during the same even on September 12th.

Apple iPhone 5 is expected to have a larger screen than all the versions of iPhone so far at 3.9 inch compared to 3.5 inch in the current and previous iPhones. It is also expected that there will be change in the location of audio jack from top to bottom in iPhone 5.

Specification of iPad Mini is not known yet, but is expected to have a screen size in between 7 to 8 inch. On 4th October last year, the iPhone 4S (the current version) was launched. Apple has launched a new version every year since the first iPhone appeared in 2007, and four versions have appeared so far. This iPhone 5 will be the fifth version.

New iPad to come to India soon: Apple

Apple has slashed the price of iPad 2 after the launch of the new iPad by about Rs 5,000. Going by these trends, the new iPad is expected to be priced as the earlier iPad 2 in the range of Rs 30,000- Rs 45,000. Apple's 3rd generation iPad, which was recently launched, will come to India within few months. The tablet is initially scheduled to be launched in 10 countries by mid March excluding India.

Both iPhone 4S and iPad 2 were launched in India within two months of their international launch. While iPad 2 was priced similar to its International pricing, iPhone 4S was priced much higher. Apple has slashed the price of iPad 2 after the launch of the new iPad by about Rs 5,000. Apple's new iPad comes with Retina Display for the same screen-size but supports higher image resolution. Packing an improved Apple A5X microprocessor, the new iPad also features a better 5 megapixel iSight camera and comes in 4G LTE support models. The new iPad will be available in 16 GB Wi-Fi model starting $499 and in 4G version for $629 onwards

App Switcher: Mysterious feature of the iPhone

You would probably not be aware of this feature if you are a new iPhone user, and it will soon seem essential!

There are many more features within iOS devices than what users are accustomed to. These features elude new users especially.

One of these mysterious features is App Switcher, which comes in handy when users want to switch from one application to another. Usually, people go to the home screen and then access the other application, but most do not know that App Switcher, which is deeply integrated with the iPhone operating system, enables quick access of apps. 

Instead of pressing the home button once, which would take you to the home page, you must press the home button twice in succession. This will open up a page showing recently used apps and even the app history.
