Huawei to launch cheaper MediaPad 7 Lite Android tab

Chinese handset manufacturer, Huawei is planning to launch a low cost version of its MediaPad tablet. To be called as MediaPad 7 Lite, the tablet is expected to compete with other low cost tablet counterparts like the Google Nexus 7 and the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0. Huawei had announced its entry in the Indian tablet market last year with the launch of the MediaPad tablet. Although internationally several other models of Huawei tablets were made available, India only got the MediaPad.

The MediaPad 7 Lite features a 7 inch display with a 1024 x 600 pixel resolution, a front and rear camera capable for high definition recording. The tablet is powered by a 1.2GHz Cortex A8 architecture based dual core processor, 1 GB of RAM and comes with 8 GB of internal storage. The operating system chosen by the company is Android 4.0 with expected upgrade to Android jelly bean 4.1 too.

 Similar to the earlier MediaPad, Huawei has given this tablet a metal unibody to give it rich looks and strength. Along with this MediaPad tablet will feature integrated 3G with calling capabilities. For connectivity, the MediaPad 7 Lite has b/g/n wireless, Bluetooth 3.0 and a 4,100 mAh battery for decent backup time as well.

Price in India: Huawei Ascend D1

Huawei Ascend Y200, G300 coming to India

Huawei is set to bring two more Ascend series The new phones, called Ascend Y200 and Ascend G300, are based on Android operating system. 

Huawei Ascend Y200 is based on Android 2.3 operating system and comes with an 800 Mhz Qualcomm MSM7225A Snapdragon Cortex-A5 processor. It has also an Aderno 200 graphics processing unit with 256 MB RAM. 

There is a 3.15 megapixel primary camera, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, micro USB port, upto 32 GB of expandable memory slot, 1250 mAh battery in the Ascend Y200 which comes in a 3.5 inch touch screen. Looking at the specification, it can be assumed to be priced around Rs 10,000 mark.

The Huawei Ascend G300 is the big brother of the former. It too comes with Android 2.3 but has a 1 Ghz processor, 512 MB RAM, 4 inch display and a 5 megapixel autofocus camera. It too has Bluetooth, WiFi, and micro USB port for connectivity.

Huawei announces its fastest phone the new Ascend D1 Quad phone

Huawei has announced its fastest smartphone ever at the ongoing Mobile World Congress (MWC) show in Barcelona, Spain. Named Ascend D Quad, the smartphone will come with a quad core processor and Android 4.0 operating system, along with a host of eye-popping features. Ascend D Quad features a 4.5 inch 720p high definition touchscreen display with 330 ppi (pixels per inch) resolution. It also features a 16 core GPS (for location) that offers twice the performance of normal GPS, according to Huawei.

The phone has an 8 megapixel BSI (backside illumination) rear camera with 1080p full HD video capture, and it has a 1.3 megapixel front camera for video calling. The phone will come with 1 GB RAM and 8 GB internal memory. Ascend D Quad will also get an 1800 mAh battery, but with a quad core processor. It will be interesting to see how long it lasts on a single charge. Notably, the phone does have Huawei's proprietary power management system, which claims to save 30 per cent power. 

The Ascend D Quad has Dolby 5.1 Surround Sound and Audience earSmart voice technology. Besides, it provides 3G with 21 Mbps download speed and 5.76 Mbps upload speed, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth 3.0. Apart from Ascend D Quad, Huawei has also announced Ascend D Quad XL and Ascend D1 smartphones. The Ascend D Quad XL comes with a 2500 mAh battery which lasts two to three days of normal usage. The Ascend D1 runs on a 1.5 GHz dual core CPU and has a 1670 mAh battery. While Ascend D1 will be available from April 2012, other phones will arrive across the world a few months later.
