Dual SIM HTC Desire VC available for Rs 21,999

HTC Desire VC, the dual SIM (CDMA+GSM) version of Desire V, is now available in India for Rs 21,999. This price is the same as the Desire V, but buyers get additional benefits from Tata Docomo. As per the offer, HTC Desire VC users opting for a new Tata Docomo post paid subscribers get double talk time (Rs 398) on Diet 199 Plan for 3 months and 2GB EvDO (3.1 Mbps) data per month free for 1 year. While the prepaid subscribers will get double talk time on select recharges for 180 days and 1 GB EvDO data per month for six months.

HTC Desire VC runs on Android 4.0 with HTC Sense 4.0 user interface. It sports a 4-inch touch screen display and there is a 5 megapixel auto focus camera with flash on board. Other features of Desire VC include 4 GB internal memory which is expandable up to 32 GB, 1 GHz Cortex-A5 processor and 1650 mAh battery. Just like it other Smartphone, HTC is also offering 25 GB Drop box space along with this handset.

HTC One S, One X to get Android 4.1 Jelly Bean

HTC has started working on the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update development for its One series Smartphone. According to the software update list of Australia cellular major, Telstra, the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update is being developed for HTC One XL (One X's International version) and One S devices.

This means even One X will be getting the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update. Both these Smartphone have been launched in last three months and by default run the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich with HTC Sense 4.0 user interface. However, there are no fixed dates or estimated time of arrival promised for these Smartphone.

Since HTC adds the Sense user interface on the phones, the actual period from development to public update would take a while. Not to forget that HTC is already in the process of rolling out the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update for its existing non-One series devices.

Only the Google Experience Devices - Nexus S, Galaxy Nexus, and Nexus 7 will be the first of the many devices to get the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update. The Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update for other devices will be released throughout the year 2012-13.

HTC working on One X's successor with 1.7 GHz mobile processor

HTC is quietly working on yet another high-end Smartphone codenamed Evitareul with Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich running on it. The HTC PM63100 appears to be the successor of the One X which carried the codename Evita.

HTC One X has been great flagship device for the company as it brought along new design, Sense user interface and also several other things. HTC wishes to continue the same excellence with a One X successor device. The obvious reason why this Smartphone can be touted as the successor because it carries forward the One X codename Evita.

The new HTC PM63100 device will feature a 720p HD resolution supporting display which will actually offer 1198x720 pixel resolutions. By default, it will run Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich or higher version of Android operating system. Under the phone, there will be a multi-core mobile processor clocked at 1.7 GHz and we suspect that the new Nvidia Tegra 3+ might be used for this Smartphone.

We do not know what this Smartphone may be branded as but considering the Sensation series branding, we assume it will carry the One XL or One XXL branding.

LG Optimus 4X expected for about Rs 35,000

Korean consumer electronics and Smartphone manufacturer LG had announced the launch of its quad core processor based Smartphone, the LG Optimus 4X, earlier this year and finally the time has arrived for its launch in the Indian market as well.

The high end quad core mobile processor based Optimus 4X HD will feature a 4.7 inch True HD IPS touchscreen display with 1280 x 720 pixel native resolution. This display will have the Corning's Gorilla Glass as well that would protect the screen from scratches and damages from accidental falls.

The Optimus 4X HD houses a quad core 1.5 GHz Nvidia Tegra processor with a Nvidia GeForce graphics chip. The device will feature Android 4.0 ICS with Optimus 3.0 User Interface on it for better user experience. Coupled with 1 GB RAM and 16 GB on-board storage, the device is expected to offer better performance while there is a micro SD card slot as well to accommodate a memory card of up to 32 GB.

This Smartphone, which weighs a mere 133 grams, is only 8.9 mm thick making it extremely easy to handle. On the back there is an 8 megapixel camera with LED flash. The camera is capable of recording 1080p HD video at 30 frames per second. There's also a 1.3 megapixel front facing camera for video calling and chat.

The LG Optimus 4X HD with its features and price offering will compete against the devices such as the Apple iPhone 4S, Samsung galaxy SIII and the HTC One X. LG already has announced a range of new devices spread across different price category and the 4X will becomes its flagship Android Smartphone in India post its launch which is only a few days away.
